History | OTLA
The first OTLA Breeders Sale was held on October 8, 1981 - which coincided with the National Texas Longhorn Breeder's Association of America Convention, hosted by the OTLA in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. In 1986, the OTLA started the beginning of the TEXAS LONGHORN SHOW CIRCUIT as we know it today.

2nd Annual World Qualifying show for Texas Longhorn Cattle sponsered by the Oklahoma Texas Longhorn Association (OTLA). There are classes for Non-haltered (free) animals as well as haltered classes for youth and adults.

Over 30 qualifying Texas Longhorn Breeders of Tomorrow youth shows are held annually around the country. Here in Oklahoma, we are lucky enough to host two events each year.
OKLAHOMA'S LONGHORN ASSOCIATION
Oklahoma is lucky enough to host two events each year - both qualifying Texas Longhorn Breeders of Tomorrow. These TLBT youth shows provide many exciting opportunities including qualifying for the National Youth Show held annually in Fort Worth, Texas.
The Oklahoma Texas Longhorn Association will host its Annual OTLA Spring Shoot-Out, a TLBAA World Qualifying Show on March 26-28, 2021 at the Payne County Expo Center, east of Stillwater on State Highway 51.

It was an awesome weekend in Shawnee, OK for the 2024 OTLA Spring Shoot Out. We elected our 2024-2025 Youth Board Officers and raised a lot of money through our auctions and entries to further our mission and future scholarship opportunities.
