Jan 26, 2009 · CB/CL 450 Carb Setup. Next, adjust your “air/mixture screws”. Usually, 3/4 turn out from full in will be a good place to start. Adjust back and forth for maximum rpm, on each carb. If you end up at some extreme, like all the way in or 3 or 4 turns out, you have a problem somewhere in the carb - probably indicates a good cleaning is in order.

I bought this non-running, mostly complete 1972 Honda CB450 K5 back in 2010 to give myself something to tinker on and get better acquainted with motorcycles in general.

Identifying carburettors on CB450's - Honda Twins
28 posts · Joined 2011. #8 · Jun 11, 2011. For the record, my '72 CL450 K4 has the 14H carbs, and my '74 CB450 K7 has the 723B carbs. The 723B carb Idle mixture screw has a small washer and a small O-ring on it as well, under the spring in that order. This washer and O-ring do not appear in Ronny's photo.

CB450 too rich at idle - Honda Twins
Mar 25, 2019 · CB450 too rich at idle. I've just got my CB450 back together after a rebore and top-end overhaul. It starts and idles just fine but as it warms up it start to get rough - this is with no filters fitted for the time being. The mixture screws are turned right in as far as they'll go and both sides are still too rich.
