The Golan Heights, [c] or simply the Golan, is a basaltic plateau at the southwest corner of Syria. It is bordered by the Yarmouk River in the south, the Sea of Galilee and Hula Valley in the west, the Anti-Lebanon mountains with Mount Hermon in the north and Wadi Raqqad in the east.

On March 25, 2019, the United States officially recognized the Golan Heights as being under the sovereignty of Israel.

International law and the United Nations still recognize the Golan Heights as part of Syria. Regional Council Golan covers all the area of the Golan Heights. It was founded in 1978 and got 9,500 inh in 32 settlements. I was notified by the RC that the unofficial flag is white with emblem.
