Kaspersky won AV comparative products of the year and was top in basically every category in this months tests. I can also say from experience its a very good AV, so that's my recommendation

Dec 1, 2023 · Bitdefender Antivirus Free - I think it's second best out there. It lacks a lot of security features that are locked in a paywall and are present in most free AV software like Kaspersky Free. Also, if there are expired certificates, the pop-up gets really annoying and literally gets in my way (Do not disturb is premium only).

I recommend for most people using a PC just for day to day usage to still be using Windows Defender, unless you do risky stuff, the best thing is to have backups with your important information No matter how complex the antivirus is, there will be a 1% that virus doesn't get detected and everything gets deleted
