I looked through the flowers and only left behind 1 package of the roses. They were in large black buckets she let me bring home to store them, to be returned later. They came with floral food and she gave good directions: unwrap the flowers, put new water in the buckets with the floral food, and place in the basement to allow them to open up.

I got enough flowers for my ten centerpieces for $173. Combined that's $572. The vases, bowls, jelly balls and floral foam ran about $50 total. You can go to Dealer's Discount Floral on 10 Mile Rd east of Van Dyke and spend hours looking at their inexpensive vases. Here are pics:

Roses - I called the floral lady at the Christiana mall Costco and had her set aside 7 bunches of 24 roses ($16.99 each) for me which I picked up Thursday afternoon before our Saturday wedding. I asked for very light pink roses. The ones she set aside for me were light pink but was darker than what I wanted.

I've had wonderful experiences with Costco bulk ordering. - I ordered a bulk package of white florists choice arrangements for my rehearsal dinner. Had them arrive about 2 days before the dinner and kept them refrigerated (luckily my parents had a spare fridge in the basement) and in buckets until the morning of my RD.

I just used Costco for my October wedding and had a great experience for the price. Just call Maui Floral and they will quote you for everything wholesale if you say you are a Costco member. They deliver to Costco and you pay and pick up (I sent my in-laws over to Kahului to pick the order up on the day of the wedding).

I haven't ever ordered them from Costco, but I buy them from Sam's Club all the time. I think they are supposed to be pretty similar in price and quality. If you pre order in bulk, I'd pick them up or have them delivered 2 days before the wedding. Trim the ends 1/2" and get them in water with some floral preservative immediately.

My flowers were from Costco and turned out great. No one could come close to them in price ($229 for 10 pieces in calla lilies: 1 Bridal bouquet, 2 Brides Maid bouquet, 2 Corsages, 4 Attendant boutonniere, and 1 petite bouquet) and they were fresh and beautiful.

I am getting married next summer and also doing my own flowers for the bouquets. I am keeping it simple and just doing Vendela Roses from my local costco. I plan to pick up the flowers on Friday, and the wedding is Saturday. The directions the florist gave me was to keep in a cool place, which would be my basement, and to put in ice water.
