Feb 28, 2019 · Among several other Filson garments, I have four of their Northwest Wool shirts. There is a big difference in the fabric between my three older ones and the newest one. The older ones are made of 100% wool whipcord in a tight hard-surfaced weave that blocks wind fairly well.

There are plenty of dressy whipcord pants available from many outlets, just sayin' So it's either a problem particular to Filson or that there are better options at better prices. The revolver guys get on me as well for pointing out semi-autos are more reliable. Same thing IMHO.

Jan 22, 2019 · On the negative side if you are sitting in a tree stand there are better things to wear under your Filson, like a heavy wool sweater or 200 weight polar fleece jacket or a vest of the same material. I have not seen the current crop of Filson wool or moleskin vest liners but if they are suitable for wearing out of the coat so much the better.

Sep 3, 2013 · Besides, Filson just brought out the Jac Shirt in a sweet plaid that would be great camo in the woods and it seems Filson likes to quickly discontinue the cool colors. I'm still open to ideas, but right now I'm thinking I'll pick up the Mack vest and the Jac Shirt for now.
LLBean Northwoods and Filson Wool Mackinaw Vests
Jan 9, 2014 · Fabric wise the Filson is made from 24oz 100% wool, the LLBean with 23oz 85% Wool, 15% nylon. Filson mackinaw cloth has a much stiffer and heavier hand than the LLBean and the Filson feels like a much tighter weave. The Filson vest takes longer to conform to your body shape than the LLBean as it starts out more “boardy”.
