May 30, 2020 · Here's my Acousticon Masteredge kit, 18/12/14 (also have a 10) and 5.5x14 snare. Kind of interesting, my Mom-in-law was a lifelong friend of Remo Belli (RIP,) and got this kit from him as a surprise present for my 40th birthday, in 2002.

Nov 14, 2019 · Still, those are a bargain and Acousticon is the only shell material Remo has ever used. Master touch drums had straight-walled shells with a 45 degree bearing edge. The Master edge drums were one level up and featured a patented molded bearing edge that looked like a reinforcement ring.

Mar 4, 2010 · I would feel awkward putting EVANS heads on REMO drums. Might cause a disturbance in The Force or something equally sinister. The Bass batter is a PS P3 Renaissance. Sounds great so I am leaving that in place for now. The reso looks like the stock black head that came with the kit with the huge REMO logo.

Jun 24, 2018 · The ultimate Remo player to me is Jeff Hamilton, who played them for years and they sounded phenomenal to my ears. He's a jazz guy though, so way different then Bozzio. Another great one to listen to was Louie Bellson who was actually friends and partners with Remo on these and played those drums for years.
Remo kit questions for experts. | [DFO] Drum Forum
Dec 21, 2007 · I endorsed REMO drums for 10 years. 86-96. Then the decision was made to not spend any more advertising money working the drums. The one pro drummer that still plays them, is Jeff Hamilton. He played the Mastertouch drums originally, but I believe his main set is the Masteredge set for the last several years. They both sounded great.
Remo still make drums? | [DFO] Drum Forum
May 19, 2013 · Yes, Remo drums are made at their facility in Valencia, California, and always have been. It's the same plant that makes their Remo USA drumheads and Acousticon hand percussion drums. They haven't actively promoted their drumset line in several years, but their website still lists the GOLD CROWN series with "Advanced Acousticon" as their only ...
