Porter is a male black bear, who are native to Northern Michigan. Named after the dark style of beer that ties into the history of craft breweries in Kalamazoo as well as the Growlers team name. Porter’s moniker as the “64 ounces of fun” as well as his signature #64 jerseys reference the number of ounces that a growler jug can hold.
