The two that you should strongly consider are The Long Dark and Subnautica. Both of these games are single player only (although there's a multiplayer mode for Subnautica in development). The Long Dark is set in Northern Canada During the Winter. It heavily emphasizes the survival aspects. Finding food and staying warm are very important.

Nov 23, 2022 · Both are very good games and have some things in common. The Forest has more jump scares, imo, while Green Hell has harder disease/poison mechanics. They both have a story, and I like Green Hell's a lot more. Building is definitely better in The Forest. If you like survival games, I honestly think you should play both eventually.

Mar 22, 2023 · This War of Mine (TWOM) is AMAZING. Open world…in a sense, but really one of the best games I’ve ever encountered….ever. OBSESSED and a MUST try. The long dark is more ‘open world’, very good and addictive. Totally diff from TWOM, but still great. TWOM is phenomenal. Def try both. I’ve recently started Days Gone.

This too has great base-building stuff, as well as the bonus of discovering, taming and even breeding dinosaurs! DO check user guides for best settings though.

Survival fountain of youth is great. They just released a new major content patch recently. It has all of you major survival elements, plus environmental threats depending on the region you are in. It has a lot of content, it doesnt feel empty like other games where you are just in a field with resource chunks lying around.

Jan 3, 2018 · I have to say, as buggy as they are, both Conan exiles and The Ark have hooked me like no other games have. Both can be played single, or multiplayer. If you're not someone who loses sleep over lack of polish, bugs or sometimes low framerates, than I can't recommend these games enough. I have to stress though, that these are definitely buggy.

Kenshin there is little reason to build a base and RimWorld survival is never a issue. You will be attacked but food water, shelter is solved withing the first 5 to 10 mins of play. The games I was looking for needed to meet all 4 points.

It's not one I play myself, but there's not that many zombie games in the survival arena that are worth mentioning.
