The sites key destinations include the King Center and Freedom Hall, Heritage Sanctuary at Historic Ebenezer Baptist Church, the tombs of Dr. King and Mrs. Coretta Scott King, the Birth Home, Historic Fire Station No. 6, and the National Park Service Visitor Center.

Your time is valuable, below are several possible itineraries for you to best spend your time visiting the park. Please be aware that your visit to the park is self-guided except for the park ranger-led tour of the Birth Home.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historical Park was established to preserve and interpret the places where Dr. King was born, worked, worshipped and is buried. Places to visit include the Visitor Center, Ebenezer Baptist Church, The King Center (Freedom Hall), Fire Station No. 6, Dr. King's Birth Home and the restored Birth Home Block.

Commonly called Martin Luther King, Jr. Day or MLK Day, the third Monday of January is a federal holiday to honor his life and legacy. Places where he made history and of the greater Civil Rights Movement he influenced are preserved in many national parks and in local communities around the country.
