The National Hurricane Center said Tropical Storm Sara formed in the Caribbean on Thursday, but its forecast path over Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula now has it falling apart by the time it

A newly formed depression in the Caribbean could enter the Gulf of Mexico as Tropical Sara next week, potentially reducing the chances it could pose a threat to Florida later in the week.

The weather may begin to deteriorate by late Wednesday or Thursday as Sara’s leftovers begin to turn to the northeast and pick up speed. As it moves closer it will start spreading showers and possibly thunderstorms into the Suncoast. Models differ on timing, but this would be the general drift of the forecast.
