Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse football moved Justin Barron up to a more traditional linebacker role against Stanford on Friday, and he earned his highest grades of the season from Pro Football Focus. Barron had struggled in what the Orange calls its “star” role (hybrid safety and outside linebacker) through the first couple games.

The Stanford Cardinal will travel across the country to make program history with their first ever ACC matchup Friday night against the Syracuse Orange.

Emmet Kenney hit his fourth field goal of the day with time expiring to give the Stanford Cardinal a 26-24 win over the Syracuse Orange. It’s the first loss of the Fran Brown era. Before the game, Syracuse already found itself on the back foot with inactive players.
