The jackpot for Monday’s Powerball drawing rose to $285 million after no one won the big prize on Saturday. If someone matches all six numbers in Monday's drawing, they can choose a one-time cash payment of $125.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 to win a third prize of at least $50,000.

The jackpot was last won on Dec. 7 when a New York lottery player won a $256 million Powerball jackpot. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions jackpot is at $95 million with a cash option of $41.6 million, according to the Mega Millions website.
