A man has died two days after being stabbed in West Dallas last week, according to a statement Monday by police. Officers responded to a call about a stabbing in the 3300 block of Brantley Street on Friday at about 1:20 a.m., a statement from Dallas police said. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man that had been stabbed.

Police are investigating after one person was shot by an off-duty police officer on the northwest side of Dallas early Sunday morning.

Former Dallas police chief Ben Click has died. He served as head of DPD from 1993 to 1999. He was a popular chief inside and out of the department with a focus on community policing. Friends said Click died from an undisclosed illness.
