An epic aerial assault was underway Saturday as a fleet of fire aircraft worked to prevent the Palisades fire from hitting homes in Brentwood and Encino.

Ground and aerial firefighters scrambled to save homes in Brentwood from the encroaching Palisades Fire. As of Saturday afternoon, the Palisades Fire was mapped at 22,661 acres and was 11% contained.
