A federal jury on Tuesday acquitted suspended Suwannee County Property Appraiser Perry Lamar Jenkins of three counts of mail fraud.The verdict came after six hours of deliberation and a six-day trial.

Lamar Jenkins, the county’s property appraiser, has been in office for 45 years. He was raised a Democrat, but he changed parties last year because “the Democratic party is just chaos,” he said.
