STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A new study ranked the top 30 most expensive colleges and universities across the United States in 2025 — and six of the schools are located in New York state.

College is no longer affordable, even with in-state tuition discounts. These states have the most expensive in-state tuition costs, all without including room and board, textbooks, and other fees.

Not surprisingly, it also has some of the most expensive, with Wellesley College recently announcing that overall annual costs for undergraduates will surpass $100,000 in September.
