The show almost featured a performance of One Direction's "Through the Dark," exec producer Ben Winston reveals

The Recording Academy remembered Liam Payne during the 2025 Grammys on Sunday, February 2, nearly five months after his death. Footage of Payne during his One Direction days was shown at the top of the In Memoriam segment. His voice could be heard as music played in the background.

The Grammys 2025 honored the ones we’ve lost. The In Memoriam segment featured Chris Martin singing the Coldplay song “All My Love” as the ceremony honored music stars who died over the past year, including Liam Payne and Toby Keith.
