The New Jersey Devils drafted Jack Hughes with the top pick Friday night and the rebuilding New York Rangers picked Finland's Kaapo Kakko No. 2 to create what could become an instant rivalry.

Meanwhile, the Devils finished the regular season in the top three of the NHL in power play percentage, a rate that got even higher after Jack Hughes was lost for the season back in March.
