The Houston Airport System will resume operations after suspending flights Monday at midnight ahead of the historic winter storm.

The Bush Airport’s terminal lobbies are used for check-in, TSA security and baggage claim. These operations for Terminal B flights will be redirected to Terminal C, according to the Houston Airport System.

HOUSTON — All Houston airports will close Tuesday due to the winter storm expected in the area, officials said Sunday. An arctic front with wintry precipitation is expected to move into the area overnight Monday.

Hobby Airport reopened Wednesday after being shut down Tuesday due to snow and sleet in Houston. Houston received three to five inches of snow on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Officials at IAH and Hobby said Tuesday morning that teams remained on site to prepare for when they can return to service.

After shutting down Monday ahead of significant snowfall in Houston, the Houston Airport System announced it planned to reopen airports Wednesday morning. Some travelers got stuck at the airport thanks to the winter storm that slammed southeast Texas with its snowiest day since 1973.
