1909: Daniel Burnham’s Plan of Chicago was unveiled. 1916: Municipal Pier (later known as Navy Pier) opened.

In 2020, Rolling Stone magazine named him No. 4 of the top 50 bassists of all time. He was added to the Cincinnati Black Music Walk of Fame in 2023.
