CALGARY -- Matt Coronato scored his first NHL hat trick, and the Calgary Flames pulled away for a 4-1 win against the Anaheim Ducks at Scotiabank Saddledome on Thursday. Coronato scored twice in a span of 1:27 in the third period to complete the natural hat trick.
He's been a defensive fixture in the Ducks' lineup in his first season with the team.
The Oilers are still looking for depth after signing John Klingberg, which makes Ducks defender Brian Dumoulin a trade fit.
Dumoulin produced an assist, two shots on goal, three blocked shots and two PIM in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Penguins.
NOTE: this is not a rumor or suggestion of any kind. It’s an attempt to find a comparable trade to the recent NHL blockbuster between the Colorado Avalanche, Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks.
The Winnipeg Jets have several upcoming free agents but are only focused on their current pursuit of a Stanley Cup.
Mason McTavish and Alex Killorn end their scoring slumps with two goals apiece, John Gibson makes 31 saves and the Ducks snap a four-game losing streak with a 5-1 win.
One player linked to the Oilers by LeBrun, reporting for The Athletic on Jan. 15, is Montreal Canadiens veteran David Savard. The 34-year-old right-shot defenseman is in a contract year, set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
ANAHEIM -- Mason McTavish and Alex Killorn each scored two goals for the Anaheim Ducks in a 5-1 win against the Pittsburgh Penguins at Honda Center on Thursday.
