Michael Strahan is firing back at the outrage surrounding his stance on the national anthem on Sunday. Strahan is finally speaking out after angry fans called for his termination following his decision not to place his hand over his heart at the San Diego Naval Base ahead of Veterans Day.

While Michael Strahan was only seen briefly on the broadcast as this occurred, it was enough to draw criticism on social media from some who viewed the gesture as unpatriotic.

"The only statement that should be made and that I want to make is that I love the military, I’ve always loved the military, and I will always love the military," he said in a social media post.
