Since the inaugural event two years ago, the Cup and Xfinity series have been affected by inclement weather. After both series’ races were shortened by thunderstorms in 2023, the Cup Series ended 17 laps short of the full distance last year because of rain delays.

NASCAR has confirmed its prize money for this weekend's Cup Series race on the street course in Chicago - its third consecutive race at the venue.

There are three more Saturday races remaining on the Cup Series schedule -- Richmond, the annual regular season finale at Daytona and the Bristol night race. Eight regular season races remain on the Cup Series schedule, starting with the Chicago Street Course next Sunday, July 6.
