JBL's upcoming flagship noise-canceling headphones include a wireless audio transceiver with an integrated LCD for use with in-flight entertainment systems that's also a remote control.

The option to connect to audio devices without wireless connectivity is a feature borrowed from JBL’s Tour Pro 3 wireless earbuds which incorporates the functionality into a charging case. With the new JBL Tour One M3 headphones,

JBL makes some of the most interesting headphones around, and the newly announced JBL Tour One M3 have a very interesting component. JBL calls it the SMART Tx, and it's a little wireless transmitter that makes it easy to stream to your headphones from pretty much any audio source, and to share that audio with others, too.

The JBL Tour One M3 are the brand's most advanced and groundbreaking over-ear headphones to date, while the PartyBox 520, PartyBox Encore 2, and PartyBox Encore Essential 2 speakers target three different types of party animals.

Some of JBL’s wireless earbuds (such as the Tour Pro 3) come with a smart charging case which includes similar functionality, but this is the first time it has produced a stand-alone transmitter for a pair of its wireless over-ear headphones.

JBL Smart Tx is a compact transmitter that connects directly to USB-C or analogue sources, such as inflight entertainment, TVs, or gaming devices.
