More than 443,000 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles are being recalled due to an engine defect that can cause sudden failure and increase crash risks. Nissan issued the recall for about 443,899 vehicles, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

Nissan said in its announcement that a failed engine can lead to a “loss of motive power" and increase the risk of a crash.

The Nissan Altima and Rogue and Infiniti QX50 and QX55 are being recalled to fix potential engine failure due to a defect.
