Republican Ashley Moody has been sworn in as Florida’s junior U.S. Senator. She took office a day after former U.S. Sen.

On Tuesday, Moody began her term as Florida’s newest Senator, filling the role vacated by now-Secretary of State Marco Rubio.

On his first full day in office, Vice President JD Vance administered the oath of office to Moody and new Ohio Sen. John Husted, who is filling Vance's vacancy.

Moody, tapped to replace Marco Rubio, endorsed DeSantis over Trump in the presidential primary and is already facing threats of primary challenges.

Moody also expressed gratitude for President Donald Trump and his intent to address the impact that Biden had on the border under his leadership.
