The Captain Cook Monument is a 27-foot obelisk that was erected in 1874 to memorialize where Cook died. He was killed in 1779 after a fight broke out between the Hawaiians and Westerners.
Take time in between snorkel trips and scuba dives to behold the large white Captain Cook Monument that sits across the bay. There's also a traditional religious site, Hikiau Heiau, across the bay.
