Sunny and Gizmo are sisters, according to the organizations that operates the world-famous 24-hour camera feed of the nest near Big Bear Lake.

Friends of Big Bear Valley, a nonprofit that maintains two web cams that livestream the goings on in the nest, reported Sunny’s first hovering as a developmental milestone as the two eaglets prepare to fledge, or fly away from the nest.

Tens of thousands were watching on a livestream Friday morning when a young bald eagle hovered for a few seconds, achieving another milestone in pursuit of its first flight. It was the second time the eaglet was observed hovering in preparation to "fledge" or fly away from its nest.
