It's been quite a week for United States forward Brady Tkachuk. Tkachuk suffered an undisclosed injury in the first period of Monday's game against Sweden, and ultimately didn't return to the contest.

It would be impossible to retell the history of the 4 Nations Face-Off without mentioning the notorious Team USA group text which ultimately led to the trio of fights at the start of the matchup between the United States and Canada.

Team USA star Brady Tkachuk provided a less than ideal injury update on his brother Matthew Tkachuk after the 4 Nations Final.

Tkachuk is "hopeful" to play Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets but doesn't want to "reaggravate" the injury.

The United States couldn't beat Canada when it mattered most in the inaugural 4 Nations Face-Off, losing to their neighbors 3-2 in overtime in Thursday's final. The Americans came close to their first best-on-best championship since the 1996 World Cup of Hockey, getting several major scoring chances in the early minutes of overtime.

Tkachuk, playing on a line with his brother Matthew and Auston Matthews, crashed the net with less than 4 minutes to go. He was able to get his stick on a pass from Matthews and the puck eluded Canada goalie Jordan Binnington. That sent the pro-U.S. crowd into a frenzy.

After tying the game against Team Canada at the end of the first period, Brady Tkachuk made clear his excitement about playing in the final of the 4 Nations Face-Off. He was assisted by his brother Matthew Tkachuk.

USA star Matthew Tkachuk was limited to a team-low 6:47 of ice time and didn't come off the bench after late in the second period.
