Meta Is Making Oakley Smart Glasses for Athletes
Bloomberg reported Tuesday that the two companies had teamed up on a smart glasses partnership. The glasses will be marketed to athletes, according to the report. Citing “people with knowledge of the matter,” the news outlet lays out some of the ways in which Meta plans to diversify its smart glasses product base in the coming years:
Meta AR Glasses Plans: New Oakley Smart Glasses For Athletes and New 'Hypernova' Under Works
Gurman shared that Meta and Oakley's new smart glasses under the 'Supernova 2' codename would be dedicated to athletes, and they will be made using the Sphaera glasses. The Supernova 2 will be meant for athletes, especially cyclists, using the Sphaera glasses' body and featuring a camera at the center of the frame.
