Cineplex said the momentum that began in November thanks to a slate of blockbuster films including "Moana 2" and "Wicked" continued to bring customers to the screens. Wicked is the highest-grossing movie of all time based on a Broadway musical and the third highest domestic-grossing film of all time released by Universal Pictures, it said.

Cineplex says its box office revenue for December was up from a year earlier as movies released in November including Wicked and Moana 2 gained momentum.
