Notre Dame has released an injury update on star running back Jeremiyah Love ahead of Monday's CFP National Championship against Ohio State.

Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love has been hampered by a knee injury since the regular-season finale against the USC Trojans. He even wore a brace during Notre Dame’s 27-24 win over Penn State in the Capital One Orange Bowl — the victory that sent the Fighting Irish to the national championship game against Ohio State.

Based on how the games went during Jeremiyah Love's visits to Notre Dame, its an upset that he wound up in South Bend.

Love has hurdled defenders from USC, Penn State and more, and he has no plans on stopping as the Irish head into the CFP championship game.

Jeremiyah Love could not be kept out of the end zone during Notre Dame’s Orange Bowl battle with Penn State on Thursday night, and gave an incredible effort to score a wild touchdown for the Fighting Irish. Love’s Herculean effort to get into the end zone early in the fourth quarter briefly gave Notre Dame their first lead of the game.

Ohio State had a couple snoozers to start things off as they dominated their first two CFP games. Ohio State blew out Tennessee at home in the first round as they won 42-17, and then they smoked one seed Oregon in the quarterfinals as it was 31-0 halfway through the second quarter. They cruised to a 41-21 win.
