Apple Inc. fans lined up at stores around the world for the new iPhone 16, shrugging off the fact that the device’s signature feature — a new suite of AI tools — won’t arrive until later.

Demonstrators in a dozen cities in the US and other countries took advantage of the publicity of the iPhone 16 launch to call for a boycott of Apple products. The protests included some current and former Apple employees.

A test audience will use the AI software, which will soon be avilable to buyers of the new phones that just reached store shelves.
