Purdue's Matt Painter is scouting the next big talent to fill Zach Edey's shoes, aiming to maintain the Boilermakers' dominance in college basketball.

The Memphis Grizzlies featured two of the NBA's most impressive rookies throughout the 2024-25 season. Two-time National Player of the Year Zach Edey landed with the Grizzlies as the No. 9 overall pick in the 2024 NBA draft following his stellar collegiate career with the Purdue Boilermakers.

At Purdue, Edey was known for his dominance inside, and he brought that same physicality to the NBA. He averaged 9.2 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, shooting an efficient 58% from the field and an impressive 34.6% from 3-point range, a rare skill set for a player of his size.
