Ahead of his return to Ranji Trophy, Virat Kohli had an intense training session with the Delhi squad and interacted with the players during the practice session. It was reported that Kohli declined captaincy offer by Delhi selection committee and agreed to play under the leadership of Ayush Badoni.

25-year-old Ayush Badoni, who has an experience of only 13 First-Class matches, is Delhi’s current captain in the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Kohli will be playing under Badoni. Badoni has confirmed that Kohli will bat at his usual No. 4 position. He said Kohli has boosted the confidence of the players.

Virat Kohli is set to play his first Ranji Trophy match in 13 years after he was named in Delhi’s 20-member squad to face Railways at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. The match will be played from Thursday (30 January).
