Traverse City State Park 's campground in Traverse City will close from July 7 through the 2026 camping season, according to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

TRAVERSE CITY, MI -- This summer, one of Michigan’s most popular campgrounds will undergo an overhaul nearly 50 years in the making.

The campground will close after the National Cherry Festival on July 7, 2025, and remain closed for construction through “the 2026 camping season,” according to a state agency announcement.
