Tesla is declaring the Cybertruck to be “America’s bestselling electric pickup truck in 2024.” And yet for the first time, the company offering discounts of up to $2,600 on the low-poly truck, a sign that demand may not be as strong as Tesla would like you to think.

The angular, divisive electric pickup truck didn't sell as well as some Wall Street analysts expected in 2024.

A look through Tesla’s inventory reveals there are approximately 759 Cybertrucks in the company’s inventory across the United States. Of these, 148 are demonstrator models while the remaining are new and fresh out of the factory. Dozens are being offered with discounts, some of which are as high as $3,830.

According to Automotive News, in an effort to turn sales around, the company is now offering discounts on the Cybertruck. Time will tell if it's enough, but Tesla could have a real uphill battle for its niche machine.

I think the Cybertruck can be officially considered a flop now,” Karl Brauer, an analyst at iSeeCars told Automotive News. “Remember, this was going to be Tesla’s F-150.
