Search and rescue teams recovered the body of an overdue hiker on Mount Hood on Monday, the Hood River County Sheriff's Office said on Wednesday. The hiker was identified as 38-year-old Robert Tveite of Portland.

PORTLAND, Ore. ( KOIN) — A hiker was found dead on Mt. Hood Monday after not returning from a hike, authorities said. According to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a report on Sunday that Robert Tveite, 38, didn’t return home from his day hike the previous day.

A Portland man died last weekend while hiking the Cooper Spur Trail area of Mount Hood. His body was recovered on Monday.
