(CBS DETROIT) - For the 2024 presidential election, Michigan residents will have multiple ways to cast their votes, including early voting. Early voting is the newest voting option in Michigan.

LANSING — More than half a million people have cast ballots in person since Saturday, the first statewide day of early voting, according to the latest numbers from the Michigan Secretary of State.

At least 12 early voting sites had more than 1,000 voters cast ballots Saturday. Overall, nearly 1.8 million people in Michigan have voted, when counting absentee ballots already returned.
