Once you have your needle double threaded, be sure to knot the end and you’re ready to sew. When you’re done, a running stitch will have the same appearance on both sides of the joined fabrics.

But you can sew your own weighted blanket that is just ... sides with their faces turned in towards each other. You can double stitch this seam as it will be the edge of your blanket.
