Taking a cruise vacation can be an ideal way to sail away from screens and enjoy a digital detox. Internet service on a cruise ship is often expensive and unreliable anyway. Not every cruise passenger wants to completely abandon technology, however, and some passengers even require access to it for medical and mobility needs.

Carnival Corp. is putting the finishing touches on, not a new ship, but a new destination for cruise passengers. Beginning in July, Doral-based Carnival will send ships between PortMiami and Celebration Key, a private development in the Bahamas.
