A 10-year-old U.S. citizen, who is recovering from brain cancer, and four of her U.S. citizen siblings have been deported to Mexico with her parents who are undocumented. NBC News reporter Nicole Acevedo joins José Díaz-Balart to explain more.

As a 10-year-old girl with brain cancer and her family traveled from Rio Grande, Texas, to Houston for an emergency checkup in early February, immigration officers detained her, her undocumented parents and her four other siblings.

While reality star Teddi Mellencamp was hospitalized for her brain tumor diagnosis, she remembered being on her “deathbed" and sending out final texts to her loved ones that read "this is actually it.

Mellencamp had been suffering from migraines for six months but refused to acknowledge the pain due to “bad stuff” happening in her life.
