According to 7 News Miami, on Tuesday, November 12, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a medical call at the airport, arriving shortly after 5pm to assist an unidentified woman whose water had broken as she began giving birth in the pre-security area of the American Airlines departures terminal.

Miami International Airport was recently home to a very unexpected arrival. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a 911 call after a woman went into labor in the American Airlines ticketing area at the airport where she later gave birth,

“We got a boy!” exclaimed a nearby officer. The woman and her son were subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, according to Fire Rescue representative Helen Avendano, who said she could not provide any more information due to patient privacy laws.
