After a prolonged series of delays and missed deadlines, Amtrak has officially set a start date for its fleet of next-generation Acela trainsets, known as Avelia Liberty trains.

The Hornell Alstom workforce will ultimately produce 28 new Acela trainsets to build out the high-speed fleet, part of a $2 billion contract awarded in 2016.
