The S&P 500 may be heading for its first gain since Christmas. The main gauge of Wall Street’s health rose 0.5% in early trading Friday and was on track to break a five-day losing streak. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 216 points,

The equity benchmark ( SP500 ) ( SPY ) ( VOO) piled on 1.3%, and the Nasdaq ( COMP:IND) leapt 1.8%, after the past five consecutive sessions concluded in the red. The losing streak was the lengthiest since April, when each average slumped 4%, and logged its first negative month since October 2023.
