First soaking storm of 2025 brings heavy rain, flooding concerns to North Texas
Temperatures held in the upper 40s Saturday night into most of the day. Then a cold front arrived mid-afternoon with much drier air. This cleared out the mist and fog as temperatures dropped quickly into the low 40s.
Cool pattern with heavy rain coming later this week
This week will start off dry and cool, but an active weather pattern sets up by mid-week. A large storm system pushes into North Texas bringing widespread showers and thunderstorms to the region. Rainfall could be heavy, Wednesday and Thursday with some areas receiving upwards of 1-4 inches of rain. Stay tuned!

Along with the warmer weather, North Texans can expect rain returning to the forecast this weekend. There’s a 50% chance of showers and storms late Saturday, Jan. 25, followed by a 40% chance on Sunday, Jan. 26, according to the NWS. Low rain chances (20%) will continue early next week on Monday, Jan. 27, and Tuesday.
