WOODRIDGE, Ill. (WLS) -- Two people were killed in a fiery crash after a Tesla struck a home in Woodridge Sunday night, police said. At about 9 p.m., police said the Tesla was speeding down the 2400-block of Kildeer Street when the car hit a house.

It's a shame,' said one long-time neighbor Adam Fick, who was in bed dozing off around 8:30 p.m. when he heard "two loud bangs."

Witnesses said a Tesla was speeding when it struck several trees before crashing into the home, causing a fire. The Woodrige Fire Department arrived at the scene and extinguished fires in the house and the smoking car. There were reports that two people who were in the Tesla died in the crash but that has not been confirmed by police.

The Woodridge police and fire departments responded around 8:45 p.m. on March 2 to a vehicle that crash that crashed into a home at the 2400 block of Kildeer Street, police said.
