In an unprecedented move, two departments of Delhi Government have released public notices and disowned the registration process started by Chief Minister Atishi and former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for two schemes announced by the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in the National Capital.

The scheme, which promised Rs 2,100 per month to women, was labelled as "fraudulent" by BJP leaders, who accused former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of misleading the public with false promises. Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, slammed Kejriwal and the AAP for spreading misinformation.

Aam Aadmi Party Chief Arvind Kejriwal on Wednesday reacted to a notice from the Women and Child Development Department (WCD) which said that the welfare schemes launched by Kejriwal have not been notified by the Delhi government and are "non-existent".

According to a public notice, the Women and Child Development Department declared that any private person or political party indulged in collecting information from citizens through forms and registration processes in the name of the 'Mahila Samman Yojana' was "committing fraud.

Arvind Kejriwal launched the Mahila Samman Scheme and Sanjeevani Yojna for women and senior citizens in Delhi today. He personally met the people of Delhi and initiated door-to-door registration.

The Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana will provide Rs 1,000 per month to all women aged 18 and above. However, Kejriwal recently said the amount would be increased to Rs 2,100 if his party returns to power in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections in February.

As per the Mahila Samman scheme, eligible Delhi women would be entitled to Rs 1,000 per month, while under the Sanjeevani scheme, people aged above 60 years would be provided free treatment at all Delhi hospitals.
