The game’s reserves were announced Thursday, as voted on by the league’s coaches, and Ball was not among them.

Young, the NBA's assist leader this season and a three-time All-Star selection, obviously wasn't pleased about not getting picked for the Feb. 16 All-Star event in San Francisco.

Even though the format of the game is a bit different, the voting method remains the same. The results to determine the starting lineup are once again calculated based on a weighted system from fan voting, media voting, as well as player voting.

Among those to make the cut are first-timer Victor Wembanyama and 21st-timer LeBron James. Six teams had multiple selections, while only two teams above .500 — the Dallas Mavericks and Sacramento Kings — had none. The game is once again stacked with recognizable talent, but there were plenty more players beyond the 24 players selected.
